Working with the future
How can we work with the future when we don’t know who we are? How can we start reinventing and renegotiating the way that we inhabit this planet, when we are still in mourning of the old? How can we transform and repurpose the old structures when we are still living inside “the belly of the monster” as Donna Haraway puts it?
The answer lies in embracing everything as it is. There is no perfect solution right now to the situation that we are in. This might feel scary at first, but once fully accepted it can start to become interesting. The next step is to begin looking for clues in the undefined, the forgotten and the in-between, because in a time of trickery, the answers will surely emerge from where you least expect it. And the only way to know that you are on the right track is when you feel that familiar buzz of aliveness which happens when we light up inside.
Innovation is different than you thought
Social innovation is one of those areas that are often over-looked in a world where technology is seen as the solution to our problems. This needs to change. Because if we don’t get the social right (and here I include how we relate to the more-than-human world), then the technology we produce is worthless or directly harming to us. Therefore, the approach to innovation that I advocate for is social first, then technology can come in as a supporting structure or a playful ingredient.
I bring people, organisations and institutions into the new
There are ways to thrive in this turbulent world. There are ways to connect that brings peace. There are methods which are nervous system-aware and nature-positive. And there is so much more to discover!
My expertise lies in wielding the innate capacity we have to create and to do this in effortless ways. I am a teacher and a facilitator. I work with science and ancient wisdom, art and research, poetry and philosophy. What I do is a practice of both/and; of sharp discernment and gentle inclusion. And everyday I celebrate that I get to do this.
Are you called to explore new ways of working, creating and being?
