Weaving a new beginning
Each transition begins with an ending. Then comes a new beginning, but only if we can let go and embrace the zero-point from which all things grow. Right now, we are in the midst of many endings. We are in the awkward in-between space where nothing is defined, where we are dealing with our losses, and where it is hard to imagine the new. But imagine we must do.
Now is a time for grief but also for celebration, and exactly here lies the paradox of our time. There are no more heroes. Categories are collapsing and identities are becoming fluid. This might feel very unsettling but what it means is that we can finally relax a little. The beginning hasn’t started yet, but we are on our way there. Now is the time to be patient and to celebrate whatever freedom we have to be whatever we are.
A time for joyful reconstitution
My name is Omi-peah Ryding and I am an Earthkeeper, an artist, a researcher, and a facilitator of change. I believe that new beginnings are possible, because I have seen it happen. I have experienced it myself in situations and environments that were toxic and unforgiving and where I felt no hope. I have felt it rise up inside of me as I gradually found ways to thrive in uncertainty.
We live in a world of many worlds. We live in a time of trickery and of great beauty. We are different and the same. We are capable of many things. What we dream about matters. How we step into life matters. Therefore, I am calling out to you:
I’m here. Let’s co-create the future together.
